Primordial information content of Rayleigh anisotropies

چکیده
Anisotropies in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) are primarily generated by Thomson scattering of photons free electrons. Around recombination, probability quickly diminishes as electrons combine with protons to form neutral hydrogen off which CMB can scatter through Rayleigh scattering. Unlike scattering, is frequency dependent resulting generation anisotropies a different spectral dependence. Unfortunately efficiency rapidly decreases expansion universe, result that only small percentage scattered hydrogen. Although effect very small, future missions higher sensitivity and improved coverage poised measure signal. The uncorrelated component contains unique information on primordial perturbations could potentially be leveraged expand our knowledge early universe. In this paper we explore whether measurements used constrain non-Gaussianity (NG) examine hints anomalies found WMAP \textit{Planck} satellites. We show additional has potential improve NG constraints $30\%$, or more. Primordial bispectra not local type benefit most from these scatterings, attribute scale dependence anisotropies. scaling means features large scales. On other hand, may persist smaller scales, such power asymmetry seen \textit{Planck}, addition measurements.

Primordial magnetic fields and CMB anisotropies
Possible signatures of primordial magnetic fields on the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature and polarization anisotropies are reviewed. The signals that could be searched for include excess temperature anisotropies particularly at small angular scales below the Silk damping scale, B-mode polarization, and non-Gaussian statistics. A field at a few nG level produces temperature anisotr...
متن کاملTesting Primordial Non-Gaussianity in CMB Anisotropies
Recent second-order perturbation computations have provided an accurate prediction for the primordial gravitational potential, Φ(x), in scenarios in which cosmological perturbations are generated either during or after inflation. This enables us to make realistic predictions for a nonGaussian part of Φ(x), which is generically written in momentum space as a double convolution of its Gaussian pa...
متن کاملProbing polarization states of primordial gravitational waves with CMB anisotropies
We discuss the polarization signature of primordial gravitational waves imprinted in cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies. The high-energy physics motivated by superstring theory or M-theory generically yields parity violating terms, which may produce a circularly polarized gravitational wave background (GWB) during inflation. In contrast to the standard prediction of inflation with u...

متن کاملConstraining Primordial Magnetic Field from CMB Anisotropies at Higher Multipoles
The cosmological magnetic field is one of the important physical quantities which affect strongly the cosmic microwave background (CMB) power spectrum. Recent CMB observations have been extended to higher multipoles l &1000, and they resultantly exhibit an excess power than the standard model prediction in cosmological theory which best fits the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) data ...
